Professor Brian Kelly and Printmaking Students Give Workshop and Present Research at Symposium
Tue, 12/06/2022 - 2:30pmProfessor Brian Kelly and the Department of Visual Arts printmaking students attended the 8th Annual This Printmaking Thing We Are Doing: An Undergraduate Printmaking Symposium, held on the campus of Nicholls State University Oct. 11–13, 2022. This symposium embraces academic undergraduate research and the enhancements that it provides to the student learning experience while expanding the intellectual vitality of the printmaking programs and undergraduate education within the State of Louisiana.
At the symposium, Kelly and Department of Visual Arts printmaking students presented a demonstration of lithographic printing transfer techniques associated with stone lithography.
The University of Louisana at Lafayette printmaking students also presented their studio research in the annual symposium student printmaking exhibition and during an open portfolio presentation. Additionally, the students attended exhibitions, printmaking demonstrations covering a broad range of printmaking topics, and participated in a collaborative steamroll printmaking event on the last day of the symposium.

The annual symposium celebrates and provides undergraduate students studying printmaking the opportunity to be part of the exciting printmaking community with in Louisiana and provides them the opportunity to share their personal printmaking research, creativity, and innovation developed on their academic campuses.
The symposium was attended by faculty and students from University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of New Orleans, Louisiana State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Nicholls State University, and McNeese State University.
