Dr. Allison Leigh, associate professor of Art History, had an article on Russia’s recent invasion of Ukraine published in Nineteenth-Century Art Worldwide, a scholarly, refereed, open-access journal devoted to the study of nineteenth-century art and visual culture across the globe. The article, entitled “Farewell to Russian Art: On Resistance, Complicity, and Decolonization in a Time of War,” explores the ethical dilemmas facing art historians who study Russian art and culture.
In October, she also produced her 20th episode for the New Books Network podcast when she interviewed the art historian Leslie Geddes about her new book on Leonardo da Vinci, titled Watermarks: Leonardo Da Vinci and the Mastery of Nature (Princeton University Press, 2020).
